My dad hated the movie for the historical inaccuracies - but all I really understood was that he didn't like it and each time I saw it, I felt guilty for enjoying something inaccurate. (I am an extremely easy person to guilt trip, I could have been absent on a day we had a substitute teacher but would still feel guilty if my classmates misbehaved, so this wasn't a unique situation.)

I've appreciated his historical criticisms more as I grew older, but at the time my logic was Dad doesn't like the movie = this movie is bad = I shouldn't watch/like this movie.
