You and me both, OP. The whole arc was pretty horrifying. Especially when they gave us some hope things would get better with the introduction of the second Lemongrab but then... the screaming and the eating him alive... The episode where they're all starving makes me really uncomfortable because of how emaciated everyone is, and then everything after that is dreadful, especially with poor Lemongrab 2. I'm surprised they got away with it all tbh.
But then this season started off by vaporising a man's leg, ripping off a boy's arm and, the flesh growing back on the skeleton Big Bad (which was somehow even worse than the other two). I guess they're letting AT get away with a lot thanks to all the money it's bringing in?

the flesh growing back on the skeleton Big Bad

Possibly unpopular opinion #1: I hope that doesn't stick. The Lich is the best villain AT has, and losing him would be awful. They can put him on the back burner for a while (maybe all of season 6? have him come back in season 7?), but getting rid of him all together would make me a sad panda.

ripping off a boy's arm

Possibly unpopular opinion #2: I hope this DOES stick. They've been foreshadowing Finn losing his right arm since season 2 ("Moral Folly" has him picturing an adult versions of himself with a prosthetic while he's mediating, and that's just the first of several references to the idea of him losing his arm), so this really isn't even that surprising in retrospect. It would also make the scene were he loses his arm completely pointless...

IAWTC. Also his "other life" self Shoko had a prosthethic arm too, and so did AU!Finn too. I think it will stick.

Yeah, like I said, there are several refs... His vision in "Mortal Folly", his wish-created AU in "Finn the Human"/"Jake the Dog", his vision of his future self in "Dungeon Train", his Pillow-verse self in "Puhoy", his reflection in the mirror in "King Worm" (briefly), and Shoko, a previous reincarnation of him, in "The Vault". I think the only future/alternate version of him that doesn't have part or all of his or her right arm missing is Cake, and she's an in-universe work of fan fiction.

I agree. Especially about Finn's arm because that was a hell of a lot of foreshadowing. And I think it's a good message to show that people get injuries but can still move on with life.

Yeah... Finn kicking ass with one arm, or a prosthetic? Mathematical!

I don't think Adventure Time's all that strict because it's not made for like little kids. It's TV-PG.
