I have always associated those ridiculous moustaches with the Celts, so they look downright badass to me, not matter what more reasonable modern cultural connotations might try to tell me.

Oh man, thanks for reminding me how I always give a second glance to guys who look like they're one pair of plaid breeches away from being written up in one of Caesar's stories. I don't know why I didn't click to it on MacConaughey before, but now I have to rewatch True Detective so I can enjoy it on a whole new level.

Never been attracted to him, but he really did it for me in this movie. Being misanthropic, self-loathing, ashen, and tortured by occult obsession seems to do the trick.
