I'm surprised that you weren't into tentacles before that. But then, I'm always surprised when people aren't into tentacles (SUCKERS! GRASPING ACTION!). I don't know what that says about me.

Anyway, when I think of Londo, I just think of liver spots and teeth. :( Plus, I was always more sympathetic to G'kar than to him. Although... How far are you in B5? Did you get to the elevator scene yet?

NO I HAVEN'T! But I know there's something with an elevator (I typed elevator so poorly my phone auto corrected to ska god, wow). Shhhh no spoilers. But, I'm super sympathetic to G'Kar, don't get me wrong. I'm writing up my thoughts on the eps I watch on my tumblr and I described his grief in Coming of Shadows as palpable, so. He made me cry. Legit tears of sadness for a fictional alien. That's how awful it was. (That's the last ep I watched, btw. S2e9)

I'm not really... sympathetic to Londo. His character type is my favorite- morally ambiguous, self-centered jerk- and love the whole "making terrible, horrible decisions and then feeling guilty about them" thing. (Though, I don't think he really feels too guilty at this point.) I understand his motivations completely, even though I'm yelling "LONDO NO" all the time. I dunno. I guess I'm sympathetic in way. I have a lot of feelings about Londo and could probably talk about him for a really long time.

I think the great thing about Londo as a character is that, yeah, it is really easy to understand him. It's not so much that he's a bad guy as that he operates according to a set of cultural standards that are completely at odds with so many of the other characters. And the Centauri on the whole kind of suck, but it's hard to overcome the expectations of where you come from.

One of the really awesome things about B5 is that it invites you to take on so many different points of view. Most of the main characters aren't totally good or totally bad; whether they're right or wrong is a matter of perspective.

Gaaah I gotta do a rewatch.

I was about to write a fucking book of a comment about the Centauri but I thankfully my better senses prevailed.

It's late here and I'm too tired for anything too detailed or coherent at the moment, but I'm on Season 3, episode 17, which concludes a two-parter... I really need to go back and re-watch it soon because I was so focused on what was going on with (Characters A and B) that I kind of glossed over the simultaneous interactions between (Characters C and D), and I think I may have missed important details.

There are really too many good characters in this series for me to pick a single favorite; ask me right now and I'd have to say Ivanova or G'kar, but if you posed the question again when tomorrow's secrets go up I'm as like as not to choose someone entirely different.
