Songs you're really digging right now

[personal profile] a_potato 2014-05-03 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
I have a thing for this song:

MS MR - "Fantasy"

I've been listening to it over and over.

What have you been listening to on repeat?

Much love for MSMR. "Head is Not My Home" was my repeat song for a good while.

My current songs:
Crooked Teeth - Death Cab For Cutie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEjLae4GD4k

Title Track - also Death Cab For Cutie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9TpM2FRu-4

Awww I love "Crooked Teeth." Definitely one of my favorite Death Cab songs.

The Killers, Deadlines and Commitments:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFoo3NGy0Dg

I listened to it for the first time in about a year and a half yesterday, and now I just keep thinking about making a specific fanvid for it. It's been on ever since and if I still feel that way when I'm done with college for the summer I might even give it a go.

I kinda lost track of the Killers after Sawdust. I'll have to check that out!

That is a really gorgeous song. I need to listen to more by them, because I like almost everything I hear but then instantly forget they exist and don't look up any albums.

Bleeding Out by Imagine Dragons. I saw a really good multifandom fanvid for it, it was the first time I'd heard the song, and now I'm musically obsessed.

The fanvid, in case anyone is curious:

I find it funny that the first time I heard that song I instantly thought of a fandom, and it's not one of the dozen or so in that video.

Ooo, I hadn't heard that one. It's lovely. (Also, the singer has fantastic hair. I want sexy blue hair too!)

I've been listening to Astronautalis - The River, The Woods because of this fanvid. Watched it and fell in love with it (and the song).

Seven Nation Army (Glitch mob remix) too because it has all but became Bucky Barnes' theme song, lol.

Oh, and...The Winter Soldier soundtrack. I gave it another chance and since then I've been listening to it quite a lot, especially when excercising. 'Fury' and 'The Winter Soldier' are so high octane; it works.

Perturbator - Meet Jimmy.

I would kill a lot of people to get Perturbator to do an entire album like this with Le Cassette as the the singer. It is by far my favourite Perturbator song.

Oh, and I do like his other song, coincidentally also titled "Fantasy". The opening is almost indistinguishable from Alexander Brandon's work for the original Deus Ex.

For me DJ Snake - "Bird Machine" is a fun listen.

And so is Eptic - "Like a Boss". It's a good backdrop for being caught in some kind of retro nightmare video game.

Radio Radio's 9 Piece Luggage Set

And I was recently reminded of Suzanne Vega's Blood Makes Noise, which I completely love.

I love Blood Makes Noise. First heard it on a Doctor Who Doctor/Master fanmix and it works disturbingly well.

bizarrely enough I first heard it on Beavis and Butthead.

Fall Out Boy, The Phoenix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ty5Gwuo1wag

I'm not generally a fan of Fall Out Boy, but I stumbled across this fanvid a while back and was shocked to discover how much I needed this song in my life.

Ooo, thanks for the link! This song is perfect for Mustang and gang.

(And I do like FOB, but this song in particular is extremely catchy. I've also seen it used in approximately 40 fanvids and fanmixes, lmao. It's a good song, though.)

Particularly the little scat battle towards the end. It keeps getting stuck in my head.

Weirdly enough, someone who WASN'T me or part of my group did this at karaoke a few weeks back. I was so sad they cut that part out of the karaoke track, because I totally would've jumped in there and done it with them. I had to instead settle for just belting out the backup vocal parts in the chorus from my table. XD

Lately it's been "It's Time to Go Now" by Rinocerose. I've also had "Talaq Talaq Talaq" by Slimes on loop for a bit.

Radical Face - We're On Our Way.

Apparently it's in Trendy Teenage Things (Perks Of Being A Wallflower and Our Fault In The Stars, apparently?), but I first heard it in a Mushishi fanmix.

Same mix also had Jonsi - Gathering Stories and Jamin Winans - Who You Were.

Others I'm currently really enjoying are Oliver Tank - Last Night I Heard Everything In Slow Motion (was used in an Australian marriage equality ad), Paul Oakenfold ft. Clint Mansell - Zoo York (was watching someone's livestream and they played it), Disparition - Overture (WTNV fans, go download The Debate and get Overture!), and, for some reason, the Pacific Rim theme.
