No, that's not stupid at all.

I think it's great that you're able to recognize the hard work you put in. A lot of people think it's just down to aptitude or genetics or whatever and stop trying.

When people say: "You're so lucky!" or "You're so smart!", it can sometimes erase that hard work.

eg. say there's a writer or an artist, and people go: "Oh wow that's amazing, I wish I was that good! You're so talented!" They're seeing the finished product, but they're not seeing all the hours of planning and practice and careful refinement. Because when you get good enough at something, it seems effortless to the casual observer.
