Re: Important decisions
(Anonymous) 2014-05-04 12:11 am (UTC)(link)i'm doing the first year of my masters of special ed, and i'm still on the fence about it.
it seems like everyone around me has always wanted to be a teacher, and they're so happy they're achieving their dreams. it's a miracle i even turn up to class. not sure if i'm sick of uni in general, or i don't want to do teaching.
part of me wants to do the Master of Social Work - but social work isn't as well paid as teaching, and it's probably harder to get a job. (not to mention our government is cutting every social service under the sun.) i've also had a couple of opportunities and connections with teaching that i should be grateful for.
the date to withdraw without fail is coming up BEFORE we actually go on our first teaching prac. I'm thinking i'll go on prac first to get an idea of what it's actually like. then if i hate it, i'll withdraw and go into MSW.
but that means i will have wasted a whole year.
ughhhhhhhhh kill me why couldn't i have done the "question my life choices" thing during my bachelor degree
