I totally hear ya on the sports accomplishments. I wish I could say the same about my grades, though. I slept through about half my classes in high school and made pretty good grades in them. It's only when my personal life went to pieces that my grades really suffered. If I had bothered to actually put in effort, I might have put the valedictorian to shame.
