7. I tried to get into the CSI fandom specifically because I wanted to read about those three pairings. I gave up when I couldn't find enough fic about them (or my real OTP, Grissom/Lady Heather).

Dude, yes there's Sims 2 fandom. Custom content, people have contests to see who can make the prettiest Sims and then if they can take 'artistic' looking screenshots, some people make characters and entire towns and tell stories with them....there's a whole huge community over those things. I used to be trying to make a sim that would be pretty enough to enter into contests, but I didn't really have the time/computer specs for it, sadly.

I never realized there was so much out there. I've just been playing the expansion packs and sharing content with RL friends. It seems interesting, but from what I've heard now I feel a little wary about getting into the fandom.

Yep, we have a fandom, and we have wank. xD Here's the wank instances:

Stealing custom content.
Charging for custom content.
Putting pay custom content on a site where everyone can download it for free.
The past of the creator of a big fansite.
EA putting an anti-piracy software on their games has been messing up games and even computers.
People becoming BNFs by posting crap.
Storywritter BNF gets criticism, and she and her fanpeople get their panties on a twist.

And that's Sims 2 Wank. 8D
