Maybe I just haven't played it enough or am totally unimaginative, but how does one even become a BNF in the Sims? How does the Sims even have a fandom? Is it like original fiction acted out by your original Sims? Or is a Sims BNF like, whoever creates the best WALL TEXTURE MODS or something?

Just curious.

I think the BNF are the ones who create the best mods for your sim.
I play it from time to time and there are some pretty good creators at modthesims2 and so I would consider them to be BNF if not awesome contributors.

Well there are some very awesome people and modders like JM Pescado, who has consistently managed to find and fix bugs in any new expansion/stuff pack before EA does and make a fix for it. He's one of, if not THE best modder in the community and he deserves to recognition he gets. Plus his stuff is always free.

Then you have Windkeeper. Her object sets are, without question, some of the best. Although she does upload onto a paysite and a lot of people don't like that too much, that doesn't change the fact that some of the stuff she makes is wonderful.

...then we get to people like Atwa, Bunty, Carla Niven, Peggy....people who (coincidentally, all paysites) have gotten status in the community for creating what amounts to utter crap. And they expect people to pay for it.

and we get to the lesser BNF's, those who are well known not for their creations, but for their stories. These tend to be the most overrated and stupid of the bunch, because it doesn't take much to create a cliche, hackneyed plot and take photos of it. Yet these people have others tripping over themselves for the next chapter of SUPPOSEDLY ORIGINAL SIMS STORY NO 453464232
