Because we are a weird and diverse group and there are decent odds that someone in the comm might go, "Oh, that 'ship! There's a whole stash of it over here!"

OP isn't looking for fic of any pairing. That's kinda half the point of the secret.

Argument still applies, though. Someone might know if a stash of genfic somewhere, but nobody can help if they don't know the fandom.

You're right; I should have phrased that differently. But my "we might be able to help you find what you're looking for" argument still stands.
