Related to tumblr, but I don't think it counts as fandom: I wouldn't have been caught dead following some teenager who preached positivity and "don't talk badly about people ever! don't say you hate everyone!", and being like, yeah this guy who's barely older than me knows so much more about the world. I kinda want to shake some of the people who do and tell them to form their own opinions.

How do you know these people don't already have their own opinions, and are happy to agree with someone who thinks like they do?

Obviously some do, but the way these people go on about how this 'always positive' mentality should fit everyone make it seem like there's not a lot of room. Sometime they even reblog a post that didn't even mention them directly because another person questioned that sort of attitude, and publicly tell someone they're wrong and 'sad' someone for...having their own opinion.
