1) taking commissions for fanart is not a "real job". commission money might help you out but you can't live on it.

2) the vast majority of fan artists/fanfic writers do what they do because they ENJOY it and not for financial purposes. it's been that way forever.

3) you absolutely CAN commission fanfic writers. it just happens that there aren't as many writers offering to do commissions as there are artists. (i have a friend who does exactly this and most of what they're commissioned to write is smut.)

i'm not sure of their exact info but they're on fiverr.com as well as others who take commissions. search fanfiction.

I'd love to be able to do this, but with original characters, not fanwork, because I have a feeling this is where the money is...SMUT.
