I can't talk for anyone, but I dislike the idea of fanfiction writers taking commissions as much as I hate fanartists doing the same thing.

Sorry, but I think using the preexisting audience for some easy cash is disrespectful for the people who created the original material (the people who, you know, did it the hard way: creating something original and trying to get it published) and it may end causing problems to everyone producing fandom stuff (even if they aren't selling it).
