I know Chard can be a bit trolly at times, but they were agreeing with the OP,and not objecting to escapist queer fantasies or dismissing queer kids. "Those people" clearly refers to people who do object to escapist fantasies and are subjecting them to a particular kind of (pseudo) academic critique while denying them any value.
