Ganke should have been Spider-Man. He has more personality than Miles and Asian protagonists are underrepresented in comics as well.

I'm glad people think he's boring- he lacks about 85% of the stereotyping you normally get with PoC, and that makes me happy because I can relate with that.

I don't understand this at all.

I can get being happy that there isn't a lot of stereotyping going on. But I can't get being happy that a PoC character has no personality, and is only interesting because they're a PoC.

I really liked him before the time-skip, but now, yeah, I agree he's pretty boring. It's like his personality is "teenager". There's nothing particularly notable about him.

Ganke is a much more interesting character.

Characters with flaws are the most interesting.

I imagine they're terrified to give him any flaws because of his race, and that's just fucking dumb. GIVE HIM FLAWS.

It seemed to me like he had the Jacob Taylor (Mass Effect) Syndrome really bad-- which is to say, it feels like the creators were so afraid of offending by making him do anything that could vaguely be construed as stereotypical that they just sort of...deleted any possible personality he might have had. It's a shame, too, I was super-excited about him at the start. :(

Oh indeed. I don't follow this Spiderman comic but I totally know what you mean about "Jacob syndrome". Jacob was... just there. I didn't hate him, I didn't love him, he just did nothing for me. It was really disappointing when compared with all the other quirky characters in the game. I really wanted to like Jacob but didn't find anything to grasp onto.

Funny that they were so afraid of that and then turned around and made him the most stereotypical unfaithful-asshole-with-daddy-issues-and-a-baby's-momma around.
