Book Club Poll
Voting guidelines
So, if I understand correctly, the situation is that each IP can only vote once, but you can vote for multiple books within that one vote.
I understand there may be a work around for some people, dunno what's up with that, maybe if you have something funky with your IP address you can vote more than once? Dunno the techy shite, but there it is and I don't know how to change it. If this applies to you, would you kindly not abuse the your ability to mulit-vote, Keep it fun for everyone, even if that means you don't get to read your preference this time out, not going to be much of a book club if you only read stuff you know you want to read.
Happy Voting

In case anyone is on the fence/trying to decide.
Re: Book Club Poll
(Anonymous) 2014-05-07 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)It's supposed to be really good, and one of the first things to be really metafictional and do that. I've also read other things by the same author and he is absolutely HILARIOUS. So I think it would be enjoyable and not too tough of a read, but also give a lot of good stuff to write about.
Re: Book Club Poll
(Anonymous) 2014-05-07 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)Just started reading it. The first paragraph sold me, and that's what it takes, to get me to follow through on a book, these days. (I don't read nearly as much non-nonfiction as I should, anymore.)
"HAVING placed in my mouth sufficient bread for three minutes' chewing, I withdrew my powers of sensual perception and retired into the privacy of my mind, my eyes and face assuming a vacant and preoccupied expression. I reflected on the subject of my spare-time literary activities. One beginning and one ending for a book was a thing I did not agree with. A good book may have three openings entirely dissimilar and inter-related only in the prescience of the author, or for that matter one hundred times as many endings."
SOLD. Even if the Book Club doesn't pick it up, I'm definitely reading. Thanks for the rec, nonny!

(Anonymous) 2014-05-08 12:13 am (UTC)(link)OK I can see where you and the other anon are coming from. That does make sense. And the poll, in whatever form or fashion, has already pushed me to check out one of the selections irrespective of whether or not it ends up at the top of the list. So it's all good?
There are definitely growing pains with anything new, especially when you're using an external website/host for convenience's sake. I wouldn't stress too much over it. No one is holding you up to any excruciating standards here or anything LOL.

Don't know why it didn't register your first vote, though. Are you happy it at least recorded your second vote?
