The line that sparked this thought is actually from a Vetinari/Drumknott fic with a side of Vetinari+Vimes friendship, haha. I couldn't make an evening of reading V/D fics if I tried, it's a regrettably small fandom.

It certainly is a small fandom. Was always under the impression that there were more V/D fics than V/V though? Or at least decent fics, ahem.

With V/V there was hardly anything, until a new author started writing for it recently. I think she's single-handedly doubled the number of decent stories out there.

Haha, oh my! I know there are more V/V fics but nearly everything in the V/D ao3 tag is of decent quality. I wouldn't know about V/V though, I'm not into that ship at all. What's the name of the author? I think I may know who you're talking about.

Oneinspats is her AO3 handle. She wrote a VxV story about the Plague in Ankh-Morpork and pretty much won my heart with it.

I wish I shipped V/D! Unfortunately, VxV hits all my buttons.

Ah yes, I thought so. I do know her. Heh well, if you ever decide to check it out, I'm totally here for recs and stuff \o/

holy crap I thought I was the only one who shipped it

the fandom is so small, and the fics so few ;_;

High five, anon! You're right about it being small, but I love their canon interaction so much, I'm still not yet tired of reading Drumknott's scenes. Better than any fanfiction could be tbh!

I am honestly pretty surprised at the quality of the fanfic, for such a small fandom, it's got a high percentage of good stuff! :)

Do you write any yourself?

Yeah, we have some really get fanartists around! I do write but um, I wouldn't say it's quality stuff, haha. I've written The Mirror on ao3 and I have a couple of long fics in the works, but they're on hold until my exams are over.
