Supernatural: Tribes Not Picked Up

(Anonymous) 2014-05-08 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
So, the CW opted not to give the horrible back-door pilot a season order. I know I probably shouldn't experience dark glee at the news, but I kind of do. The episode was just so, so bad. Schadenfreude all around.

Anyway, what are some fandom and/or RL things that you've taken pleasure in when you probably shouldn't.

Do possibilities count? Because the possibility of Hannibal getting canned and the shitstorm that will ensue is the stuff of my fandom schadenfreude dreams.

why?

Because after all the campaigns for to get people to watch it, the shitstorm if it did get canned would be absolutely magnificent. There would be the denial, the campaigns and petitions to bring it back, the anger at NBC for daring to cancel their show about their precious murder husbands.

I'd have to buy so much popcorn. The drama would be endless. I've been wanting a decent fandom wankstorm and Hannibal getting canceled would provide it.

The Destiel shippers are convinced Destiel is becoming canon in episode 23. I'll be pretty amused if it doesn't happen, which is bad I know.

As a Dean/Castiel shipper (who has no delusions about how the show is gonna go/no expectation that OMG it HAS TO GO THERE) It's not gonna happen. I am sort of sad for the people that think it's gonna.

If it did happen I'd be really fucking surprised. I haven't heard these rumors, but I've been staying out of the fandom for the lady few months.

I know there's zero chance of that ever actually happening but is there any particular reason why they think it'll be episode 23 specifically?

Something Jensen said and something about Misha giggling about Destiel shippers. I don't follow the interviews and cons and stuff so I'm unsure of what they mean

I think they think it's going to happen every season finale

From my corner of tumblr (myself not being a Supernatural/Destiel fan of any kind, it just happens to cross my dash) it seems to be centered on the word 'miracle' being used in the episode.

... and that's pretty much it.

Wow, in a show that has versions of heaven and hell and angels and demons running around, it is truly a miracle that the word "miracle" is used in an episode. Of course, it must mean the same thing that everything else on SPN means: DESTIEL IS ABOUT TO BECOME CANON.

Or not.

Oh, God, that pilot!

Aside from Sam and Dean showing up, it had nothing, NOTHING of the Supernatural world. What were the writers thinking? No, really, what were they thinking because I can't wrap my head around the fact the writers were so wrong about their own show.

It's the Supernatural writers, they've been very wrong about their show before.

lol it even had the whole "my girlfriend was killed by ..." schtick (Sam) and "humans are the real monsters" (Dean) going on. Sam and Dean looked like they did not even want to be there, and considering the times Dean has been in Chicago, i.e. Death meets up with him there, a few cases around Chicago, didn't he get sent back in time to Chicago...like twice? And you're telling me he didn't realize something was going on?

And 5 families? LOL, OKAY. What is this? Supernatural Godfather?

I won't lie, as a POC, I was happy: hey, a black front runner, cool! But the show was so damn cheesy. I was like....eh. Okay. Maybe it will get better?
It seems it won't be going anywhere.
