Whenever I mention how much I love the 101 Dalmatians book I end up with a lot of people going "that was a book?" so I wish that was more well-known. And I wish people were more familiar with Dashiell Hammett. Most people only know what I'm talking about when I mention The Maltese Falcon and that's my least favorite thing that he's written.

And there are so many old movies that I wish I could talk about. There's one kind of obscure one called Home Before Dark about a woman who spent some time in a mental hospital and is trying to adjust to life back home, and I really want to hear some other opinions on it.

Home Before Dark sounds super familiar... I think I've seen it but I don't remember enough about it to talk about it.

Book!101 Dalmatians is superior to the movie, imo. Smarter and more fun.

I agree. Plus Perdita is so adorable.

the book is a zillion times better than any of the movie or TV versions.

I LOVED THE 101 DALMATIANS BOOK! That is where I learned about liver spotted dalmatians (and how weird that they changed Pongo's wife to Perdita). And when Perdita's old love sees her and jumps out the car window to her (iirc), I was like :,)

I also liked the Bambi book (which is wayyyyy darker than the movie).

I hate that they gave Perdita's name to Missus since she loved her new name so much. She's one of my favorite characters.

The 101 Dalmatians was one of my favourite books as a kid.

And I just finished reading The Thin Man a few weeks ago! I loved it.

Are you going to read any more Hammett? My favorites are Red Harvest and The Dain Curse. I actually wrote sort of a fantasy pastiche of Red Harvest. I do love Nick and Nora too though.

I probably will, when my library opens again. I'll keep those two in mind.

I did not know it was a book! So yay for learning something new today. Also I'm now curious about checking it out.
