robert penn warren isn't very famous for a critically acclaimed author. he's never mentioned in discussions about classics. this makes me sad because his book all the king's men is one of my favorite books and my biggest writing inspiration.

also, person of interest, though the internet is starting to realize it exists now that the third season is getting more and more praise. it's often been dismissed as "another boring cbs show for old people", but that couldn't be further from the truth.
and since i'm talking about a show he's in, michael emerson is criminally underrated as well. he's such a good character actor, but it seems like people barely remember he won two emmys.

I am so tempted to give POI a try, if only they'd put it on instant streaming on Netflix so I didn't have to...acquire it through other channels.

I gotta ask, the cop lady and the hacker(?) lady, are they actually as shippy as they seem to be based on gifsets?

yeah, that sucks. i've heard it's because of warner bros being dickwads about distribution rights.

you mean these two?

it takes a while for the show to get there (third season), but yeah, the subtext is definitely there, and it's about as subtle as a garbage truck (in a good way).

yes, and it's awesome

on the one hand you've got tons of slashy moments for Finch & Reese

and on the other hand you've got truckloads of femslash subtext for Root & Shaw

it makes my shipper heart happy

ikr? equal shipping opportunities for both slash and femslash enthusiasts. that's the perfect fanservice recipe!

All The King's Men isn't discussed a lot? We had to read that in high school! I remember because the movie (Sean Penn one) was way too boring compared to the book.

really? that's first time i hear about it being read in high school! oh man, that makes me happy. i hope you didn't find it too boring, it's a really great book!

the movie is a complete disappointment though. it had a lot of potential, and so much to work with, and it wasted it all away. it doesn't help that i hate sean penn's face.

Yep! I think I watched the movie on my own because I enjoyed the book but ugh. UGH.
