Film:
The Dark Crystal by Jim Henson (?) It was this weird 80s dark fantasy film using puppets.

Band:
Portishead. A 90s trip-hop band from Britian. If I had to describe their sound... it's like if you put LSD and the James Bond films in a blender.

Books:
Mortal Engines by Phillip Reeve. YA dystopian steampunk-ish sci-fi.
The Edge Chronicles. YA fantasy novel with SKY PIRATES.

The Dark Crystal is one of my favorite movies! I watched it all the time as a kid and recently caight it on a movie channel. Awesome movie.

Dark Crystal isn't well known? Huh. Most people I know love it. Hell, my alternate screen names is based on Dark Crystal!

PORTISHEAD. YES. So good. I heard them one night in a friend's car and I needed to hear more of them (and those who sound like them).

what, I thought everyone my age loved The Dark Crystal and Portishead! And yep, that's Jim Henson's baby. His weird, unsettling baby.
