This is Ned. He makes pies. He can also bring dead people and things back to life by touching them. The catch is, if he touches them again, they die for good-- no more bringbacks. Also, if he leaves something alive for more than a minute, something else has to die.
This is Charlotte "Chuck" Charles. She and Ned grew up next to each other. They hadn't seen each other since they were eight years old until Ned brought her back to life after she was murdered.
This is Emerson Cod. He accidentally found out about Ned's talent, and convinced him to team up, solve murders by asking people who killed them, and then collect the rewards. Which is why he found Chuck.
This is Olive Snook. She is madly in love with Ned, and she also works at his pie shop, The Pie Hole. She is very persistent. She also takes care of his dog, Digby, a lot. (Ned can't touch Digby. Three guesses why.)
These are Chuck's aunts, Vivian and Lily. They're... definitely characters. xD They have mood disorders and they used to be a synchronized swimming duo called the Darling Mermaid Darlings. Chuck can't see them since she was brought back to life, but they still play a big part in the series.
The series is very brightly colored, very whimsical, full of awesome quirky characters and situations. It's part crime-solving (there's a murder in every episode), part relationship drama (the Olive/Ned/Chuck love triangle is really compelling), and part SHEER AWESOME. The music is great, the narration is fabulously done, and it's just a very clever and satisfying series to watch.
:) I hope this encourages you to watch it, because it's a really excellent show and it makes people happy to see it. Seriously. Better than Prozac.
