When Do We Find Out About DVD Season Set Release Dates?

I'm going nuts trying to find when Sleepy Hollow Season 1 will be on DVD, and also Reign Season 1. I'm more surprised that I can't find out anything about the latter. The show's been renewed, so the season 1 dvd set should come out before the next season airs; within the next four or five months. Geez, with books and movies you know release dates years ahead, sometimes...

Does anyone know about the practices of TV shows and their DVD release dates? Is there a time of year when we get a sudden deluge of sets announced, or is it individual? How much time before a set is released do they announce the drop date?

I generally just check it out on Amazon to see if they have a release date.

But if there isn't any news, then probably the production company hasn't released any news yet (there could be a legal hold up or something). They could still be working on it - sometimes it takes a while to get commentaries done. Or they could be waiting until it's closer to the new season to build momentum, some shows don't do DVD releases until a week before the new season.
