Why do you care what actors think about "you" in the first place? Every person is different and I'm sure many of them have more positive opinions about fans. But sure, the current standard of being oh-so-cool with fanfiction and pandering to the hardcore fans is a PR strategy. Actors aren't themselves in interviews, they're their public persona.
