Most of the general population is overweight. Therefore, fanfic authors will tend to be overweight. It's just statistics. Also, writing is a sedentary pursuit.

Having said that, I feel the same way as you and I can't help it. I want my hobby to be represented by young beautiful people, even though that desire is irrational, and that's why writing is so great in the first place. Your skill as a writer in no way depends on your physical appearance.
