I don't follow him too closely but I know George Blagden adores his fans and I think he's sent gifts or personal messages to a few of them. I don't think that kind of thing is common, but some actors do seem to genuinely love and appreciate their fans. I don't see why some of them wouldn't; people are diverse. Plus, I imagine when you that so much work into something it feels good to have people embrace it and support you and your efforts.

Case in point for me? Doug Jones (Abe Sapien from 'Hellboy', among other things). I've had the good fortune to have known him for close to 10 years, and even after all this time, he's still just the kindest, sweetest, and most appreciative person I've known to come from Hollywood.
I remember a few years ago, I'd met Dougie for the first time at Mid Ohio Con. We'd been in correspondence for a while at that point, and he was delighted to see me. I helped carry some stuff back up to his hotel room (on the very top floor of the hotel) and he told me stories of 'Hellboy II' filming while we were waiting for someone to come unlock his room. Then, as he knew it was my birthday the next day, he invited me out to dinner with him and a couple other people at a fancy-ish restaurant. I've met him a few times since then (at a private Hellboy II screening in '07, and at SDCC last summer), and he's still just so kind and generous with his time and hugs.
There aren't many people like him out there, but that's what makes him special as far as actor-types go.
