Ugh, that sucks. Are they a new prescription? (I've been lucky; mine haven't changed all that much over the past decade.)

As for me, I've got a choir concert and then mountain climbing as usual. 2-3 hour drive by myself down to Mt Rainier National Park... yay...

Yeah they are (and I have not gotten new glasses in like 6 years).

Aren't you doing the mountain climbing club thing? Will you be meeting up with your group there?

Part of it too might just be how clean and new the lenses are. Whenever I get a new pair (about once every 2-3 years), even though the prescription's the same, the new pair always seems much much stronger for the first week or so, just because their free from all the micro scratches and smudges my old ones have. I usually don't get headaches though...

And yes I am. Which combined with work is why I haven't been on fandom secrets that much at all lately. DD:

But we only have a month or so left until our graduation climb (we're doing Eldorado Peak), and then it's over and I'll have my Wednesdays and Sundays back again. Yay.

ETA: And yeah, I'll be meeting them there. Normally I carpool, but everyone is going down early to get good rest at a cabin we're renting, whereas I have my choir performance, so for the first time, I'm SOL.

How much did the whole mountain climbing group thing cost? Is it like a class that you pay upfront for?

Yep, it's a class. It was about $350. Dues go to instructor volunteer salaries (there's about one instructor for every two students, and with all the time they put in they get about $1.50/hour), as well as new ropes for the class. Each climbing rope costs about $200; they get a different color each year, so after four years they know which ropes to retire. They also have several $600 tents they maintain so students can borrow them if they need to on overnight trips.
