Does anybody has links to any sort negative reaction to this character? I only saw people loving her and... I didn't really compute why

AYRT

I just saw it on the Tumblr tags the week or so after the premiere, OP, and I don't have an account, so don't have anything bookmarked/for easy reference. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help. Sounds like they've done a 180 since, because there were more than a few displeased with the creators' take on the fandom at that point...then I guess they realized they got everything they had been asking for over the years, and danced for joy?

IDK I hated most of series 2 and despised series 3, but I'm a Canon fan. So.

I checked the tags right after the episode aired and everybody was totally enthusiastic about this girl ("hahahaha, they got us totally right" - WHAT?! WHY ARE YOU HAPPY ABOUT IT?!), but I guess the hiatus being over rosa-colored everything?

I'm a Canon fan too and it's really downhill from season 2 onwards for me :/. Too bad , I found "The Study in Pink" to be so cleverly done, I was so excited for this show.

AYRT

I found "The Study in Pink" to be so cleverly done, I was so excited for this show.

Definitely, me too! What's unfortunate is they decided to listen to the loudest, stupidest, minority of their fanbase, and this is why S3 sucked so hard. (Though I will never forgive them for what they did to the ending of SCAN. Ever.)

Tumblr can tend to be a bit psychotic, in what you see, and you might get totally different results for the same tag, based on what browser or app you are using...or even if you hit refresh. I did see a few SJWs frothing about Fat!Shaming!Cue!Profanity! but whether that was in response to the character, or response to the responses about the character, I couldn't say. (I don't really remember.) This was well after it had aired, too, so I was wading through a lot of squeeing, squealing, and rage-inducing GIF sets, at that point.

I still haven't even watched through the entirety of "The Empty Hearse" I just get fed up with it, and have to turn it off. I want an intelligent show based on the intelligent literature it was taken from, not the insane leavings of the deranged over-hormonal teenaged minds of the fandom.

/my thoughts on BBC!Sherlock

Did their Irene piss you off too? Seriously, back then I was still optimistic about the show and I was hoping I could get a close-to-canon!Irene and... well :/. I started being far more critical to the show afterwards :/.

Their Irene? Heh. Don't get me started. Their Irene basically soured me on the whole thing. From the mis-characterization (SHE WAS NOT A HOOKER IN THE BOOK YOU TOOLS) er, sorry, to the ending (SHE DIES SHE'S SUPPOSED TO DIE JUST KILL HER ALREADY, HOLMES IS NOT SUPPOSED TO "SAVE" HER HE WANTS HER DEAD DEAD I SAY DEEEEEEEAD) so, yeah, to the whole "romance" thing they did, it was just a hot mess from beginning to end, and that's when I pretty much stepped back from the fandom, the show, all of it. From what I've seen recapped on Tumblr, it's only gotten worse, and they're pandering solely to the Tumblr brats. At the expense of what could be a modern-day adaptation that is fully as faithful as Granada was, to the original stories.

This was AYRT BTW

"Holmes wants her dead"? WHAT? You clearly do not know ACD canon as well as you think you do. Holmes respected and admired Irene and came to despise his client, her enemy. He did need to save her because she shifted for herself, is all.

Yrs, a BBC hater.
