And that makes it okay?

If OP wasn't offended/made suicidal by it (looking upthread, OP got the joke), why would it not be OK?

And how does one know that before getting the response? How is that a chance anyone is willing to take, especially when the evidence clearly points towards an unstable individual, and even if it wasn't it still would not be cool.

I can't believe I have to explain this to anyone, you should have been taught this as a young child "Don't hurt others." or as the on that was imprinted on me "do to others as you want others to do to you" it isn't complicated.

First of all, OP did not say they were suicidal. Secondly, if an anonymous remark of "go kill yourself" on the Internet is going to drive someone to actually take their own lives, they would have done so anyway. Whether they use an anonymous comment as an excuse, or an elaborate rationalization, it's likely, if that's "the one comment that did it" (which I find hard to believe -- Amanda Todd killed herself after YEARS of stalking/abuse/harassment from a predator SHE KNEW i.e., non-anonymous-ish), then they're waiting/looking for an excuse anyway.

"And nothing of value will be lost" is NOT the same thing as the "go kill yourself" 4chan verbal tic, by the way.

Thanks for the SJW lecture, by the by. Although I must commend you for the lack of profanity and shrill screaming, your "analysis" of myself, my upbringing, and my beliefs, is not only the opposite of correct, you are doing exactly the very thing you are criticizing me for doing. Also? Going by the pictures thread, I'm twice your age. Most adults don't take kindly to being lectured by children.

You know what, I am a pretty stable individual, I would be hurt by someone telling me to go kill myself, or insinuating it 4chan thing or not (especially as we are not on 4chan). It might not make me actually take my own life, but it would give me a bad experience and I would be affected by it.

You are quite welcome, and most 50 year olds I know they shouldn't be unecesarily mean so I guess I can't actually believe I am having this conversation with people older than my parents...

+1
