Seriously, you guys are awesome, and I totally understand the "can't be everywhere" situation.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-10 01:46 am (UTC)(link)It's tough, they are dealing with the geekiest sides of fandoms, cons always attract a certain number of socially maladjusted individuals, probably suffering from any number of mental disorders, and a con is a sometimes overwhelming morass of people, there are bound to be incidents, and I've seen a lot in my 14 years as a congoer (not just for geeky stuff either, the worst brawl I've ever seen was at a model train convention, 3 people hospitalized.
Good security teams always have my respect, and it is the prompt and professional response of con staff that keeps me coming back to my favorite conventions time and time again. So yes, my appreciation goes out to those that volunteer their time and effort to improving the experiences of those around them.
