I lost my love for Stargate at the '10 Dragoncon, where the actors pretty much got drunk on stage and answered questions from fans in a pretty derogatory manner. The only one I respected after that was pretty much Alaina Huffman, who really did her best to answer the questions the fans posed as if she took them seriously. Ben Browder was also another one who knew where his bread was buttered -- he was nothing but respectful when I saw him.

Shanks and the others, on the other hand... they couldn't even be arsed to pretend for five minutes.

I think we as fans forget that, even though writers and actors and cinematographers and stuff may love their source material and love their stories, in the end, this is their JOB that they go to every day. Their JOB. It wasn't always fun and quite often they are required to talk up and say awesomely nice things about people they honestly can't stand and 18-hour-days that were grueling and tiring.

But seriously? If you paid me beaucoup bucks to talk about the job I had ten years ago for a crowd of adoring people, I'd suck it up and pretend that I cared, too. These people couldn't be arsed for five minutes to do it, and to me, that was really sad and probably why they haven't worked since, LOL.

If it wasn't for the fans they wouldn't have a job, though. Fans don't have a right to go overboard but it's a two way street.
