They're both fantastic characters. I guess it does just come down to who you identify with more, but they're both fantastic, hilarious characters.

Also, "Uncle Teddy" is the best episode, it has both Teddy and mopeds

I LOVE "Uncle Teddy". I think that the three episode stretch of "Mazel Tina", "Uncle Teddy" and "The Kids Rob a Train" was one of the best unbroken runs on the show, and that's saying a lot because BB is fantastic.

That goop baby credits scene and music. I love how the animation studio sometimes just busts out with crazy character animation (see: Teddy caught in the fridge, Teddy in the shark's mouth... aww, Teddy.)

Also: EVERYBODY KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A DOG! (if only because my reactions were completely lined up with Tina's)

I prefer Louise too. She doesn't really remind me of myself, I just like her as a character.

Louise is far and away my favorite as well.

P.S. Ditto on the Equestranauts ep (meaning, all I know about MLP I learned from F!S, so I thought the ep was okay.)

I love them both <3

I really need to watch this show, I keep seeing it everywhere. Bob's Burgers, right?

Yeah. I know Netflix has at least the first 3 seasons, if that's a service you have access to.

Enjoy!

(Personally I found it one of those shows that took a few episodes to kick in, but it's now one of my favorites.)

This. I strongly suggest starting with "Art Crawl" or "Sheesh, Cab, Bob?" for some of the best of season 1. That season at first is a little shaky, but after that it's golden.

I love Louise! I totally love all three of the kids

(Anonymous) 2014-05-11 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm more like Tina, but I wish I were more like Louise. Either way, I love them both. In fact, I love all the characters on the show which is really rare for me. Usually there's at least one or two I just can't stand.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-11 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Tina is by far my favorite, mostly her quirks and the fact it's the first teenage girl I've seen written convincingly.

Totally agreed on the episode bit though. With Bob's Burgers it's actually pretty hard to pick a best episode per season, but it certainly isn't that episode.

I can never choose who is my favorite, Tina or Louise. They're both hilarious characters but too different to compare.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-11 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
See, and I really, really, REALLY don't care for Tina. It's ALL about Louise to me.

lol. Gene is actually my favorite Belcher child. And I think Linda is my favorite overall.

Tina can just be painfully awkward for me to watch at times and Louise is a bit... uh... she's a little disturbing sometimes.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-12 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
I love Louise and Bob the most, then Gene. I think Tina gets the most attention because of her boy craziness and how she doesn't like altering who she is just to get Jimmy Jr and because of her awkwardness/shyness (the groaning)

The Kids Run Away was a great episode! The one where Louise and Tammy get stuck in the giant Tammy head was good too, I really liked the way Louise stood up for Tina. And Uncle Teddy, that was a fun one.

IMO Crawl Space is the best episode, or at least it's the one I show people to get them into the show. It kills me. The Thanksgiving episode gets my love too for the My Neighbor Totoro reference.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-12 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Crawl Space is a GREAT episode. But I could go on and on about how many episodes I like so.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-12 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
THANKGIVINNNNNG!!!

...This is weird, right?

(I think Crawl Space is when I started paying more attention when it was on, and Sheesh! Cab, Bob? and Spaghetti Western and Meatballs in season 1 cemented it for me.)

Louise is probably the character I wish I was: clever and manipulatively awesome. Tina is the character I know I am. I relate to her so much and I am grateful that they were able to capture her nervousness and anxiety in almost the exact way I act now and back when I was her age.

I don't think the MLP parody is the best Bob's Burgers episode either (course, I'm not a MLP fan, so that's probably one of the reasons.) It was okay and I think I appreciate it more for its message because it points out both the good and bad of a general fandom instead of negatively painting them all as freaky, creepy people.

That said, "Tina-Rannosaurus Wrecks" is probably my personal favorite episode because Tina's guilt and constant worrisome nature is exactly what I do. It nailed it really damn good.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-12 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
I adore Louise and started watching the show because of Kristen Schaal. I have a hard time choosing a favorite Belcher though. They're all wonderful. Louise's final trip to the dentist in "The Kids Run Away" is my favorite scene in the series though. I loved the family, Teddy, and Dr. Yap all indulging the fantasy to help Louise through her anxiety. ♥ I want to be a Belcher.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-12 08:49 am (UTC)(link)
I was very much a Tina growing up, but from the view past 30, I like Linda and Bob more. They are exactly the parents that Tina, and Gene and Louise, need and there's something deeply satisfying about seeing a depiction of a unspectacular couple that manages to be affectionate and mostly uplifting without sacrificing realism or the weird quirks that make the Belchers amazing.

But I definitely agree that Equestranauts was not the strongest episode this season. I'd give that honor to any of the following: The Frond Files, Fort Night, Mazel Tina, Uncle Teddy or Turkey in a Can (which is the heavy favorite).
