I've seen webcomic artists flake a few times yet. One of two things tends to happen before hand... lack of any updates at all (he's still doing those and started that whole paradox space project as a filler), or signs of mental instability. Crazy posts, burning merchandise, converting to social justice mentalities...

So far, so good on the Huss front.

I DO think he's stalling to try to get more money though. He's doing every other project under the sun and it's irksome. And one has crashed and burned pretty horribly. I know the horrible monetizing of a short-ass browser VN wasn't his idea, but the fact he was heavily involved is eh.

I don't think it's a big mystery that he's working on the game right now for financial reasons. He wants it to be successful; it's more than just art at this point, since Homestuck is literally his livelihood. I don't blame the guy. It's his stuff.

I definitely don't think it's going to be abandoned. After all he's done, I have more faith in AH's creativity and perseverance than that. Plus, as Noodly mentioned, this isn't his first pause.

+1, and also although it has dampened my enthusiasm as a fan a bit with no new canon actively coming out right now, I think Hussie made the right call for his creative process in finishing everything up at once rather than continuing to issue little batches of updates. I have no doubt he'll finish it.

I totally agree.

And yeah, this fandom feels really back-burner to me atm despite being one of my biggest ever, but I know when the time comes to wrap it up it'll be huge for me again, at least for a while. :)

TBH there's still some part of me that thinks it's just going to be on hiatus forever. One last trolling for the fans. (only this time, the last laugh will be ours... Homestuck fandom is eternal.)
