Some birdsong mnemonics are pretty weird. Thus, it is said that what common wood pigeons sing is "go away, I'll kill you".

Also, since I'm pretty sure everyone already thinks I'm unusually obsessed, here's a bit of trivia about Joe Bell: it never fails to crack me up when I remember that not only did he actually diagnose a guy with "inertia vulgaris", but this guy was able to use the certificate Bell gave him to get money from a charity.

*nods* And killdeer and whippoorwill (iirc) get their names direct from mnemonics of their songs. "Whip poor Will" is a very sad name for a bird.
