I'd say the opposite honestly... people were VERY anti-Bush, and it got a little insane at points, actually. I wasn't a fan of Bush either and I still had issues with the way people would express their dislike of the guy.

Folks wouldn't be half so bad on Bush if it hadn't been for the way the Florida courts and his brother behaved during his first election. I think it would have come out that he won anyway, but they way they behaved during the counting just made it look like there was something fishy going on there. That and invading Iraq on such spurious grounds, should have genuinely finished the job in Afghanistan first before opening up any new fronts. And there were worse tyrants in Africa than Saddam was that deserved toppling if America was going activist.

The weird irony is that the US had seriously ramped up humanitarian aid to Africa under the Bush administration. (Granted, it wasn't perfect with the involvement of FBOs, but still!)

Say what you will about literally everything else Bush did, but our involvement in Africa I think laid a few bits of groundwork for making Africa a better place, something that I think Obama has let lapse, which I find interesting in the face of China moving in to build roads and business ties. You'd think we'd be on top of that.

And of course, things like the kidnapped Nigerian girls, or the anti-gay laws in Uganda and elsewhere, shows there's still a lot of work to do.
