Huh, don't read if you're squeamish about butts and sharp objects.


King Louis XIV had anal fistulas and got surgery to get rid of it. It worked and everyone who had anal fistulas in secret came out to the surgeon to get the same surgery, it suddenly became fashionable. And the aristocrats whose ass problems didn't warrant getting scissors up your butt were *disappointed*.

Wow, that reminds me of a documentary on Versailles that I watched where they talked about this. They showed the actor playing Louis XIV lying down when the doctor asks him to, then the scene cuts to the doctor emerging from behind the operation screen and loudly declares to the people there: "THE ANUS OF THE KING HAS BEEN CLEANSED" or something like that. I couldn't help but laugh.
