I think Foucault is wrong in his assertion that in the age of biopolitics people know what they do, but do it anyway, due to social constructs they don't see/can't break out of. I think people know exactly what they're doing, and do it intentionally because they also know (but never acknowledge that they know) how these constructs benefit them.

Either that or biopolitics is over, and we live in a post-Foucaultidian world.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree, but there are still so many academics who disagree vehemently out there.
