There's also the fact that a lot of these "cheesy" shows get the label because things with female leads or a relatively high percentage of women in the cast automatically get the "fluff" or "fun" label because that's considered the domain of female interests/representation, while male dominated/led stories are automatically assumed to have a greater chance of being "serious" and "deep."
