The Tatterdemalion series by Vathara is very good! Humans mutated by alien viruses into having tentacles and telepathic connections and super-strength/reflexes. The author handles not only the physical changes, but the psychological ones too, AND how the normal humans react to them. (No tentacle porn, though. Just to assuage your fears/keep you from getting any hopes up.)

Technically it's Bleach fic, but you don't have to know canon. I keep hoping the author will file off the serial numbers and publish it as original. I'd buy it!

Project Tatterdemalion (part 1)

Project Asclepius (part 2)

Project Thoughts (part 3)

Hope you enjoy!
