I love that so many people are mentioning the Johnny Cash song. It's funny because a lot of people my age when the song came out hated it, but I'm of the opinion that hating Johnny Cash is hating music. And anyway Trent Reznor loved the cover and he and Cash became friends in the last years of Cash's life, so stupid kids can fuck off.

i admit i was too young to pay attention to the song when it came out, so i haven't encountered any backlash. still, there are people who hate johnny cash? that makes me sad.
the fact that reznor was so honored and enthusiastic about the cover makes me love it even more. i also love that he's friends with david bowie.
