'Bout to say. I never waited tables, but I worked in retail and being on your feet for 8+ hours a day can be rough. Feet hurt, legs hurt, back hurts. And wait staff have to carry heavy trays of food to boot. Those jobs aren't for sissies.

This. Retail is hard both physically and in terms of dealing with the public, who can be very obnoxious. I'm not saying it's "OMG the worst thing ever", but I'm a fairly strong and healthy person and after two years of being a cashier I had stabbing pains in my feet.
