There's just too many fucking British accents to do one single one properly (without, say, accidentally blending the north Wales lilt into your Cornwall) unless you've actually studied it for a couple of years. Everyone just winds up trying to sound like they're from Manchester and incredibly posh to boot, and it gets so rote that it's become it's own thing.
