was the first fic I read for the pairing, Space pirates! but not cracky.
It's very long and not 100% focused on the relationship so it might not be everybody's cup of tea, but I remember enjoying it a lot.
Anyway, I remember being disapointed by the dynamic/characterisation in almost all the other fic with that pairing I read afterward.

DA but Space Pirates and a pairing that's relevant to my interest + not always focused on the relationship? I really, really need to read this. Thank you!

Oh yes, definitely give this one a try. Ignore the tense shifts and weird grammar in the first ten chapters or so - it does actually get better over time.

I loved the long, slow build-up, from reluctant allies to lovers, and I loved the overall plot a lot!

Thank you! I was a bit afraid that this fandom was more or less dead for me, so it's great to still be able to read something relevant to my interests!
