For some reason I've never gotten into the fanfic for TOS...like was said, they have those Strange NEw Worlds anthologies and that's good enough for me! IF you want some tie-in novels I can't recommend the Janus Gate series enough. Great story and the characterizations are spot-on (green new ensign Chekov wanting to get on the bridge crew is a highlight, he's so earnest and it cracks my shit up)
