See, for me, if I'm shipping a non-canon pairing, it's because I thought the canon pairing was badly writen or the characters had no chemistry, so I feel no compunction about breaking it up.

This is mostly the case for me, with few exceptions. I really like the way Pepper/Tony is written in the MCU (well, mostly), but I also like Tony/Bruce and Tony/Steve. The result is that I write nothing, because I can't bring myself to just ignore Pepper/Tony but I don't want to write it either. :/
