I don't mind the handwaving, but I will wish there was a mention of the canon pairing when that pairing is one that has a big factor in the source. Like already mentioned, MCU fic where Tony/Pepper barely have a friendship has me going, "Where's Pepper? What happened?"

Of course, that's only when the canon pair is something I also happen to care about along with whatever ships I'm having. When the love interest is such a blandy bland, especially a dude, I don't even give a fuck. Put 'em on a bus or run them over idc. Well, I will care if they're bashed, because then I'll feel bad.

This is OP and I'm completely baffled that pretty much everyone that read this secret figured it was about Pepperoni.

And yes I agree with you on the dude front. Have you seen Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D? The less pasty Ward in the way for my femslash and Trip/everyone the better.

There's nothing baffling about it. We Pepperony and Pepper fans are PISSED OFF about the shitty way the slashers treat our girl, and we just have a Spidey-sense for when people are talking about it.
