. . . if I hadn't seen how it plays out in the MLP fandom. Sure, Spike probably wouldn't take it well if Rarity fell in love with Twilight instead of him, but it's not like Rarity has some obligation to be with him, and I hate how entitled Spike fans can get about it.

If someone's a huge Spike fan, it's not necessarily a guarantee that they have a rack full of fedoras, but it's definitely enough to keep you on high alert.

There's no Spike/Rarity in canon so it's illogical of them.
Wait, Spike is a bit of Rarity's fan, now that I think about it, but it was pretty onesided.
