I think there is a Pinkie personality that is a complete person, an insightful and intuitive sort who has a hard time explaining all the ideas in her head, and often tries to use actions instead of words to convey how she feels. The problem is that there are at least three different Pinkie personalities, and the writers can't just pick one and stick with it. (Some fans have interpreted the Mirror Pool episode as being about this--you've got the original Pinkie acting like she did in season 1, and you've got the bland clones who don't care about anything but having fun.)

having that kind of intelligence is very frustrating.
