Wow! That was something else. WTH with the mom just running off and leaving the kid there, though?

The father said the mother ran off to make sure the dog wouldn't come back. Basically shielding her son so he could run into the house. The owners of the dog had come out at that point and were trying to get it into their yard and the owner's wife ended up getting bitten.

The dog had started to return, and so the mom left for two seconds to chase the dog away again. I heard she even got bit as well.
